$Your Deck Investment
$$YOUR BACKYARD INVESTMENT $$

Why investing in your backyard is SMART:

Building a deck is a "respectable" addition - its one that the real estate market sees as normal - 90% of decks are built as remodeling projects.

According to Hanley Wood (a large media company) in a 2007 Cost v Value study, deck additions (wood) rank #1 for remodeling investment across the nation.  A deck returns an estimated 85.4% of it's cost; outranking both kitchen and bath remodels.

A third of the nearly $150 billion that Americans spent on home remodeling in 2005 went toward outdoor living areas, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics.

Have a deck already? Then you already know what a great investment it is!

Depending on how a deck was constructed and what materials were used, the life expectancy of a deck runs an average of 10 - 15 years.

However, you can extend the life of your deck through regular inspection and maintenance.

North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA) recommends a once a year inspection on existing decks to check for deterioration, loose connections, etc.  Click here to download NADRA's 10-Point Consumer Check Your Deck(R) Checklist

There are an estimated 40 Million decks in the U.S. alone that are OVER 20 years old. Deck collapses are on the rise as a result.  Don't be a statistic - Check Your Deck
